Noiret & the Flowers
Pre-order Noiret's album - "Losing Butterflies"
“Life without songs is like a garden without flowers,” is the underlying theme from the debut album titled ‘Losing Butterflies’ by Noiret & The Flowers.
‘Losing Butterflies’ is composed, arranged and produced by the jazz and world music artist himself, and feature his trademark Vibraphone, Miramba and signature percussive elements.
‘Losing Butterflies’ encapsulates soft, seductive sounds and tuneful melodies that create memorable songs that are both enthralling and enchanting the listener. The debut takes on acoustic jazz pop, with a new age feel to Noirets’ vocals that gives one a taste of things to come.
The album opens with the title track ‘Losing Butterflies’. This song’s premise sums up the philosophy Noiret is trying to communicate with his work. The butterflies in the text each represent a basic value of the soul; gradually fluttering away as people grow older and more cynical. The chorus that answers the question posed is, initially, the voice of reason, imploring the listener to catch them again before it is too late. The final question: “When we have lost all our butterflies, what can we do?” goes unheeded because the voice of reason no longer exists. The album’s themes delve into issues relevant to today’s society, ranging from politics, love, death and money. These ideas are delved into with lyrical depths that demand the listener to take notice.
