C&C Music Factory - "Everybody Dance Now!"
Feat. Freedom Williams
SWEAT: New 2010 Mix Collection - Due out on September 23 in advance of next year’s 20th anniversary of the seminal house floorfiller’s debut.
Undoubtedly one of THE club hits of the halcyon early 1990s house scene – prepare to Sweat again this summer.
As, aptly, almost 20 years on, the remixers de jour responsible for the massive 1991 anthem ‘Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)’ C&C Music Factory have been given the remix treatment themselves. Featuring seven brand spanking new cuts, Sweat: 2010 Mix Collection should send your memory racing nostalgically back to the days when the nation’s hippest dancefloors vibrated to the soulful rhythms of the New York house pioneers.
Electro mix is produced by Mike Bennett and Fozman (Mike Bennett has written produced and remixed a diverse range of artists, including Ian Brown, The Stranglers, Gregory Isaacs, The Specials, The Selecter, Hazel O'Connor, Wishbone Ash, Emerson Lake and Palmer, BMX Bandits, Bad Manners and The Fall, of whom he was also a group member) and The French lounge mix by Mike Bennett and the Jazz Assassin. Joining Mike Bennett for the Tech House mix is guest co-producer and noted musician Marco Camasso.
On the ''Slipped my Disco mix 'Disco-strations' are provided by Steve Etherington AKA Sethrington who's previous production and arrangement credits include Lulu, Sweet and The Sisters of Mercy.
David Cole and Robert Clivilles originally hooked up in the 1980s when Cole was DJing at Manhattan’s Better Days and a firm friendship and musical alliance was quickly formed. The pair collaborated with a host of vocalists and went on to produce, write and sell 125 million albums. With such stellar global stars as Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin benefitting from their expertise, while their work with Michael Jackson, Chaka Khan, Grace Jones, Donna Summer, James Brown and Pet Shop Boys quickly garnered them a reputation as the go to duo, when a fresh, vibrant and innovative remix was needed.
Sadly, Cole passed away in 1995 from spinal meningitis, and, after becoming disillusioned with the music industry when Sony Music Entertainment dropped them on the day of his burial, Clivilles turned his back on making music, seemingly forever. But 12 years later and the hit-maker returned to his first love, once again making music with M.V.P. (M.ost Valuable Playas) whose first single titled: ‘Roc ya Body (mic check 1,2)’ reached no.3 on the European Pop Charts.
